Are You Aligned to Your Purpose or Have You Quietly Derailed?
Many of us begin the year with clarity. We set intentions, make plans and feel excited about the possibilities ahead. Yet as the months pass, it is easy to become distracted by the busyness of life.
Work becomes demanding. Responsibilities increase. Expectations from others begin to shape our decisions. Without realising it, we may slowly drift away from what truly matters to us.
I often see this happen with my clients. On the surface everything may appear fine, yet beneath it there is a quiet restlessness. A feeling that something is missing.
This feeling is important. It is what I often call the whisper.
The whisper is that inner knowing telling you that something deeper is calling you forward. It may appear as a desire to do something different, to express your talents more fully, or simply to live in a way that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
Many people remain in what I describe as their perceived comfort zone. This is the place that feels familiar and secure. We know what to expect there and life becomes predictable.
But predictable does not always mean fulfilling.
Your true comfort zone is different. It is the place where your talents, values and purpose align. When you are operating from this place, life often feels more natural. Decisions become clearer and you feel more comfortable being your true self.
If you feel that you have become distracted or slightly derailed from your purpose, the first step is simply to pause and reflect.
Ask yourself
What truly matters to me right now
Where is my energy going each day
Is my current direction aligned with who I want to become
Distractions will always exist, but they do not have to determine your direction. What matters most is where you choose to place your focus.
When you gently bring your attention back to what is true and right for you, clarity begins to return.
Your purpose has not disappeared.
It is simply waiting for you to reconnect with it.
