Are You Leading in Alignment?
You can achieve excellence without losing yourself in the process.
You may be successful, capable and highly driven — yet still feel that something about the way you lead isn't quite right.
Perhaps you're constantly pushing yourself.
Perhaps you're making decisions based on what you believe you should do.
Perhaps you adapt to the expectations of others, override your instincts or find yourself operating in ways that don't feel natural or at ease.
The Leadership Alignment Advantage invites you to look at leadership differently.
Sustainable high performance isn't simply about pushing harder, it's about understanding who you are, what drives you and how you naturally operate — then learning to lead from that place.

This is the thinking behind the Leadership Alignment Advantage™
It is about bringing greater awareness to the relationship between:
Who you are
How you are naturally wired
How you think, feel and respond
How you lead
And the results you want to achieve
When your leadership is aligned with who you are, performance can become more authentic, sustainable and purposeful.
What if performance starts with alignment?
We've traditionally been encouraged to step outside our comfort zone, push through limitations and continually strive to become more.
But what if there is another way?
What if some of your greatest leadership potential becomes available when you stop trying to be the leader you think you should be — and give yourself permission to lead from what you know is true for you?
The True Comfort Zone™
What if your true comfort zone is where you are most yourself?
My philosophy began with my book, Get Into Your True Comfort Zone.
I challenge the conventional idea that growth always requires us to move further and further outside our comfort zone.
I believe growth comes from something different:
Giving yourself permission to be you.
Your True Comfort Zone isn't about staying small.
It isn't about avoiding challenge, and it certainly isn't about becoming complacent.
It's about understanding who you are, trusting what is authentic to you and creating the freedom and courage to perform from that place.
The True Comfort Zone™ is the philosophical foundation of my approach to leadership alignment.
Understanding Your Natural Drivers
What naturally drives you?
As an Instinctive Drives™ Consultant, I help leaders explore the instinctive drives that influence how they naturally approach situations, relationships, decisions and performance.
Understanding these natural drives can provide valuable insight into:
Understanding how you think, feel, and respond
Your Head. Your Heart. Your Gut.
As a Certified 3 Brains Coach, I draw on the 3 Brains Intelligence™ methodology to explore the relationship between the Head, Heart and Gut.
These different ways of processing information can influence how we:
- Make decisions
- Respond to pressure
- Navigate uncertainty
- Relate to others
- Trust ourselves
- Lead
The objective isn't to tell you which way of thinking is right, it’s to develop greater awareness of how these different aspects of yourself influence your leadership — and how greater alignment can support better decisions and more authentic leadership.
My Experience
I've experienced excellence from different careers.
My approach has been shaped by an unusual combination of professional experiences.
As a registered nurse working alongside Anaesthetists, I experienced high-pressure environments where precision, trust, composure and decision-making critical.
As an artistic director of a classical ballet school training students to elite level, I experienced the discipline, commitment and pursuit of excellence required to perform at the highest level.
As a former qualified counsellor, I developed a deeper understanding of people, behaviour, emotions and the personal factors that influence how we operate.
As a leadership coach, I have worked with individuals and teams to help them develop their capability and achieve meaningful results.
And through my work as an Instinctive Drives™ consultant and certified 3 Brains coach, I have developed additional ways of helping people understand what drives them and how they naturally think, feel and respond.
All of these experiences have led me to one central belief:
You don't have to lose yourself to achieve excellence.
The Leadership Alignment Reflection
A simple starting point for understanding your leadership
The Leadership Alignment Reflection isn't a test, and it isn't a replacement for a formal assessment.
It's an opportunity to pause, take a breath, step back from the demands of leadership and consider how aligned you currently feel with the way you lead.
It may reveal areas where you're:
Leading from yourself
or
Leading from expectation
or
Leading from pressure
or perhaps somewhere in between.
There are no right or wrong answers.
The value is in what your answers reveal to you.
What could greater alignment mean for you?
Greater leadership alignment can create the opportunity to:
- Make decisions with greater clarity
- Lead with greater authenticity
- Understand your natural strengths
- Recognise what drives your behaviour
- Navigate pressure without continually overriding yourself
- Build stronger relationships
- Create a more sustainable approach to performance
- Feel more at ease being yourself as a leader.
The goal isn't perfection.
The goal is to become more conscious of how you lead and intentional about the leader you choose to be.
Ready to Explore Your Leadership Alignment Advantage?
You don't necessarily need another strategy telling you how to perform.
I suggest developing a deeper understanding of what drives you, how you naturally operate and what happens when you lead from a place that is genuinely aligned with who you are.
Start with the Leadership Alignment Reflection.
If something in your reflection makes you stop and think, that's where the conversation can begin.
A final thought...
Your greatest leadership advantage may not come from becoming more of what others expect you to be it comes from becoming more aligned with who you already are.
